Taranath Tantrik (তারানাথ তান্ত্রিক)

The fictional character of Taranath Tantrik was first created in the 1940s by legendary author Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay, who authored two short stories depicting the life of this mysterious tantrik. After his death, his son Taradas Bandyopadhyay chose to continue his legacy, penning a bunch of stories steeped in mystery and supernatural forces. Taranath Tantrik is an occult practitioner who lives in central Kolkata with his daughter Chari. The tantrik had roamed throughout Bengal during his lifetime and had encountered several supernatural forces during such travels. In the stories, he recounts many such experiences and shares them with his friends. These stories were published as two books “Taranath Tantrik” and “Alatchakra”, both of which received wide acclaim from readers.
